San Juan Island – The Road Less Travelled

Beautiful San Juan Island is famous for exquisite whale and wildlife watching, for boating, kayaking and fishing, and just about anything having to do with the Salish Sea. The isle is also well known for its fascinating history, for being the subject of a boundary dispute between the United States and the British Empire in the mid-1800s and has two National Parks, the sites of the former occupation, to show for it. Island agri- and aqua-culture products, such as Pelindaba Lavender, San Juan Island Wine and Westcott Bay Oysters are household names in Seattle and some even nationwide. And yet there are hidden gems, little known walks and true treasures to be found, when you take the road less traveled.
