My favorite Winter past-time on San Juan Island is to head to American Camp on a calm afternoon and watch the seabirds feed.

I listen to the piping call of the Oyster Catcher and muse about mating for life, while watching a pair of Loons dive or Bald Eagles riding the thermals.
