My favorite Winter past-time on San Juan Island is to head to American Camp on a calm afternoon and watch the seabirds feed.
I listen to the piping call of the Oyster Catcher and muse about mating for life, while watching a pair of Loons dive or Bald Eagles riding the thermals. Regardless what time of the year, San Juan Island offers some of the best bird watching in Washington State. Over 300 bird species migrate through the island archipelago or call the islands their home.
